New email scam

We've had a couple of suspicious threatening emails over the past couple of days. Blackmail really. If we pay up in bitcoin they will leave us alone. Deleted everything but now our email account has gone "haywire" and my Facebook account is blocked because of suspicious activity. Is it Putin?

Anyone else in the same predicament?

Stay calm
Update your security software
Run a full AV scan
Run Malware checks  (Malwarebytes)
Change all your passwords
Contact FB support for help

Don't reply to any suspicious emails - not to unsubscribe, or anything else.... By doing so, you confirm your existence. Forward anything dodgy to report@phishing.gov.uk

Don't even read them in detail, once you see bit coin or anything dodgy just delete and I also delete any message from my deleted folder straight away too.

Thank you both.

We've been lucky so far and shall do as you suggest.

We can't forward the email as it's just disappeared!

Amazon account now showing refunds for all our recent orders too, saying they were not delivered.

Changing everything now.
