Name change

How can I find out if someone changed their name .
I think my great grandad changed his from Alfred to Albert and my nanna had a sister who I also think changed her name . Apparently she was a famous opera singer

How long ago was this?  You can call yourself any name you like.  Or have a stage name if you are a performer.

Where/when do you have Alfred changing to Albert - on a census or some other document?
