Catherine Hoey/ Hoy

Hi I am looking for Catherine Hoey /Hoy on the1851 census I have her age 2in 1841 with Hoey transcribed as Honey it is also shown sometimes
as High

Catherine         21
CATHERINE        2
They we’re living in green lane Sutton Lancashire at this time
Her mother had died by the time of the 1851 but I think they were still in the Sutton area
1861 census
She was married to James Brennan living in Crab st st Helens

Just adding - Lawrence was b Ireland & remarried in 1848 to Margaret France/Witfield

Have you looked at the Catherine HOY age 1 on the 1851 census? Born Sutton-daughter of Laurence HOY and Margaret(new wife).

Just wondered if her age is incorrect.

Hi it’s the 1851 census that I could not find Catherine was born to his first wife also called Catherine so it could be her age has been recorded wrongly could you tell me the other details on the census please
Lawrence did marry Margaret Whitfield but as far as I know had no children with her

You say Catherine b 1839 was married to James Brennan by 1861.  Can't see any likely marriage but can see the 1861 entry.

The 1851 image for Catherine Hoy definitely shows her as 1yr old - but why have 2 x Catherine's & where is the 11/12 yr old Catherine? 

I think that is the right 1851 entry for her & just an error by the enumerator

I guess she marries as Catherine HIGH to James Brannan 1857 Prescot?

I do think it must be the "right" Catherine on the 1851.

Hi thank you yes she marries as High I have that certificate the name changes a lot hoy hoys Hoey high and honey. The correct one is Hoey . Brennan also is Brennan Brennen and Brandon Brennan is correct.
