See that Ev pointed you in the direction of that post a few years ago www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=753643.0

There are also a number of family trees on Ancestry such as this one www.ancestry.co.uk/family-tree/person/tree/72815482/person/46576214631/facts  You do need a subscription to view them though.

Hi Monica...thankyou so much. The reason I put a new post up, was at that time I could not find all the previous posts from my original post from a couple of years ago, but I did eventually find them here. On the information I was given previously, we were able to use some of the information given on family deaths, regarding living descendants, and we contacted one of them, James Clark, but sadly he did not want to get involved. We also found a Carol Clark, we contacted her and she was quite helpful to act as a sort of mediator for us, but still no one wanted to be involved, in particular, a woman by the name of Ann Marie, who is a real mystery, as we cannot find her as a blood relation in the family? My son had taken over the search, and he uncovered so much, finding that my grandfather was born a Paterson, but used the name of McKay in many instances, especially when he married my grandmother, here in Wales in 1914, then he disappeared in 1918.......such a lot to all of this, it would make an ineresting book..lol. anyway, he asked me to ask you, if one of you could do a search for any other living descendants, for which he will gladly pay? by the way, he has had confirmation that our Paterson family, is truly our family....too long to go into all that......thankyou for everything...PS.....I just realised that you do not research living descendants.....sorry about that....

I have no idea if 'this' John Paterrson is the same John Paterson you are looking for or not, however some of the things you have written 'fit'

Yesterday I was relooking at my great aunt who was 'married' to a John Paterson he was born Blantyre Glasgow Lanarkshire in 1886 I know he was married previously but don't know who to ( as was my great aunt previously married in Glasgow) so my great aunt/he 'married' sometime after 1933  I know they moved  to my great aunts home county of Lincolnshire in the mid 1950s, John died there in 1959 and is buried in the 'family' village in Nottinghamshire. He/my great aunt had no children and I could never find any children born in either of their previous marriages, although my great aunt had two (adult) step daughters from her first marriage who were very close in age to my great aunt, whereas their dad was in his 60s
