On looking up a John Anderson (distant relative) I have found his address as West Denton, Glamis, Angus 1841. Does anyone know exactly where this is? Tried looking up and cannot find anything. Any suggestions. ? Thank you

Are you using Ancestry, which is notorious for mistranscriptions? Because the transcription at FreeCEN and the transcription at FindMyPast both say West Denoon, not West Denton.

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

You should plan to take a look at the original, just to make sure the transcriptions are correct.
FindMyPast's transcriptions are usually better than Ancestry's, and FreeBMD are better still, but even they can get it wrong.
