1921 Census - Printing and saving

Hi

I have found my extended family members on the 1921 census but am having no luck printing or saving them.

When i print them they are too dark and I am having no success in making lighter prints. Also I do not know how to save them as there does not appear to be an easy save option.

Grateful for advice on how to overcome these stumbles.
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

Are you trying to save the records to your computer? They are automatically saved and can be accessed in "My Records" on FindMyPast.

Yes i can see them in "My Records" but i want to save them to my computer, that is where i have the problem.

Yes I used that symbol but i could not save to my computer

I often save documents (or extracts from them) using the snipping tool.
Save it as a jpg, and then you can use photo editing software to adjust the brightness, contrast, sharpness etc.
UK census content is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk  Transcriptions are my own.

You could easily use a Print Screen for grabbing s screenshot, Save it to your Desktop for easy viewing then Move or Copy it to a New Folder created for the purpose.  It may be PRNT SCRN on your keypad.
Before doing it you might Expand the document to fill your screen to help decipher poor writing.

Thanks for the suggestions it has given me something to work with tomorrow - although still getting dark copies at the moment, a FindMyPast fault?

When you click on that symbol it should automatically download them to the "downloads" folder on your computer

Open the image on your screen, then right click on the image and use "save as" in the options list that opens.
