Unfortunately, the VRs (Valuation Rolls) end in 1940 i.e. you'll need to wait until the next update.

1940

The Proprietor was Captain Graeme S L Whitelaw & the Tenant/Occupier was James MacDougall

However,  a John Ward was Tenant/Occupier at 1 South Main Street (next street to Coats Street) if it's of any help?

Of course there were other Wards in the Old Monkland area where Coats Street is/was.

I noticed Graeme S L Whitelaw seemed to be the proprietor on the side of the street with odd numbers, can't find anything on number 26, having a look at the valuation rolls on Scotland's People, forgot I was a member on that site still got 20 credits to use. the guy I am looking into was a merchant seaman from New Zealand, he is now in his late 90's and health wise not to good, he told his daughter around Christmas that around 1946/47 he was staying at 26 Coats Street, Coatbridge, which was a shock to my partner, during 2021 he has told her a lot of things that she did not know about him so trying to find it for her.

Main Street, Coatbridge is/was adjacent to Coats Street.
South Main Street, which no longer exists, was located a considerable distance away on the south side of Whifflet

Ooops...Thanks Istrice!

I'd looked up the streets on a map but I must've been diverted whilst browsing as my brother was born on South Main Street & for whatever reason it must've stuck in my head when I went searching on the VRs for the name Ward  :-[
