Does anyone know if it is possible to access birth, marriage, death records for Argentina? I’m in the UK.
I have made a partial breakthrough in tracing the family of my great uncle through 2 references in Argentina burial records. Is an Acta De Ingreso the same as a UK death certificate? Or is it more like a Funeral Directors instruction/order.
Or is there another official Death Certificate which may give more information, like the name of the informant or next of kin?
My great uncle, Herbert Glover Steed, is mentioned in the 1895 Argentina Census. In a letter to his full sister & half sister, he mentions the names Bernarda and Juana. When his full sister, Ada Jane Steed, died in 1951, her estate was left to her ‘niece of the full blood’ Juana Steed. The records I have found show that Bernarda Steed died in 1936, age 23, single, La Plata, Buenos Aires. Juana Steed died in 2008, aged 93, single, also La Plata.
If I could access their birth certificates, I might find their mother’s name.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks for reading.
