Hannah Terrey nee Plumb
« on: Friday 31 December 21 14:54 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for relatives of Hannah. I adopted the grave of her brother Thomas Plumb who was killed in action in ww2 and is buried in my hometown Venray, The Netherlands. My goal is to find a photo from Thomas to put at his grave on special occasions. I already had contact with the son of an older brother (Myer/Michael Plumb) of Hannah but unfortunately he has no photo. Kind regards and thanks in advance, Liz Her.

To start this off:

Thomas' grave: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/18397653/thomas-samuel-plumb

Thomas was the son of Samuel Myer and Esther Caroline Plumb (née Cripps).

Birth registrations with the surname Plumb, mother's maiden name Cripps.

1910: Myer William Plumb
1911: Hannah R Plumb
1914: Adelaide E Plumb
1919: Daphne V Plumb
1921: Ralph C Plumb
1923: Male Plumb (uncertain whether he is still alive, although he would be almost 100)
1925: Thomas S Plumb
1931: Female Plumb (uncertain whether she is still alive as there is a redacted entry on the 1939 register and it could be hers)

Hi Queenie, Thanks for your quick reply. I also found Hanna's siblings in a familytree on ancestry and started to look for descendants of the eldest sibling, Myer. This is a dead end because they have no photo's and no contact with the other members of the Plumb family. So next is Hannah. In the family tree I found there is no entry in 1931, I thought Thomas was the youngest. I guess you don't have a name because she is still alive? :'(

Hi Liz,

To be honest, I am not sure whether she is a member of this same family, or whether it is just a coincidence. All I did was look for children born with the same surname/mother's maiden name combination in the right time period.

Have you heard of freebmd?

https://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

As its name implies, it is free to search and you don't have to sign up. When searching, tick the 'Births' box, enter surname as 'Plumb' and 'Spouse/Mother surname' as Cripps. There you will find a list of all children I mentioned.

The only thing that supports there being another child is the redacted entry on the 1939 register. There are 5 members of the Plumb household: Samuel, Esther, Daphne & Ralph + 1 more. The fact that the entry is closed means that this person is either still alive or only died recently and the page has not been updated to reflect that. I suppose it could also be the male Plumb born in 1923, although he would be of very advanced age by now.
