Christiana Knowles 1887-1941

Christiana/Christina Knowles has birth/baptism records giving her parents as William Knowles, Hawker of 19 Adelaide St., Lancaster and Ann Aspinall. Maybe someone can help me find more information about William and Ann for whom I can find no BMD nor census details, please? TIA

No sign of more children or a marriage for the parents that I can see

I see that Christiana was born in 1887 is Lancaster and this is the only William Knowles in 1881 that I can see who was a Hawker   However he was already married?  Living at Main St Skerton

I can't see Christiana in 1891 at the moment but think she was an inmate in 1901 in Fulwood Workhouse listed as 13 b Preston, Lancs

Thank you for the interest taken. I think the 1881 census might refer to William Knowles and Ann Howard; Joseph & Ernest appear in GRO birth index with mmn "Howard" but there could be other contenders for their mother! Christiana's 1907 marriage record with James Varey would be next on my list but might only indicate father William, his occupation, dead or alive?

There is an Ann Knowles buried Skerton, 3rd October, 1893, aged 44 that could be for Ann Edmondson Howard born q2 1849 Fylde Union, baptised 17th June 1849, Thornton to John Howard & Jane Knowles. John & Jane appear in Thornton 1851 with 9 children and an "Enumerator's Memorandum" - entries have been crossed out making reading difficult. I will persevere but any help much appreciated.
