Cassell, George b1875
« on: Sunday 28 November 21 06:43 GMT (UK) »
George Cassell was born in 1875 and married Rose Inness 6 Aug 1903 at the Wesleyan church, Lucknow, India. His father's name was Emmanuel Cassell, and Rose's father, John Inness.
At the time of the marriage, George was 28, Rose was 18. This info taken from their MC now held at the British Library.
From the MC he said he was a Private with the IInd Battalion, East Surrey - hence my belief he was born and baptized somewhere in East Surrey.
Looking for information of the family. Not found in 1901 or 1911 Census that I could see; and no sign of Rose or her father John.
As always, your help is much appreciated.

Just in case this helps - his sister is listed as 25 Fairfield Place Kingston on the Army Records and this couple were living there in 1901.   I noticed that Ellen was also born in Kingston - possible sister :-\  I can't see a marriage for the couple

Ellen S Nicholls    29 b Kingston

Trying to decide if George Casell, attested 1893 (twice) is the George Casell that attested 1889, No 2880 (transcribed as 28800 by FindMyPast), born Clewer near Windsor.

There is a Clewer baptism for a Henry George Castle, 7 Sep 1873, abode Clewer, parents Henry and Elizabeth.

All a bit tenuous
