Cordless phone misbehaving!oticeoticed

My 2-year-old “Panny” cordless phone is playing up.  Late last night I noticed the phone screen display had changed to: ‘Base no power’/‘charging’.  This morning the message was still the same.  Have googled this but nothing helps.   The phone has rechargeable batteries (Ni-MH) would they need replacing? The phone is always connected - power and phone line.

Probably.  I had to replace mine a couple of months ago [not the same model].

I know more than one person who replaced such batteries and they didn't last five minutes. Probably better to buy a new phone.

Check that the base unit has power - check plug, fuse, cable.   Test the rechargable batteries, replace if suspect. 
To scrap a two-year old phone is surely not right.

Many thanks for replies, much appreciated - and apologies for late reply!  I’ll go down the new r/c batteries and just keep everything crossed.   Reluctant to replace my main unit + handsets unless absolutely necessary - being mindful that landlines are due to be “switched off” in 2025

I had a similar problem with a cordless phone a number of years ago and the easiest thing fixed it- took batteries out, waited a bit, put batteries back in- worked for years afterwards!

I found because we have multiple cordless handsets and only use one, change over the handsets so that the least used gets used/charged regular.

We bought a pair of Siemens phones about 10 years ago, both base units have a charger and the batteries are replaceable. My mobile battery is not replaceable. Never again! Even though its difficult to find a decent phone with replaceable batteries
