Hannah EAGLE (nee Edwards) burial please?
« on: Saturday 20 November 21 23:37 GMT (UK) »
Hello, please could someone look up burial information for Hannah EAGLE (nee Edwards), who died on 29 August 1858 in the parish of St Mary, Shrewsbury, aged 32 or 33 years? If you are also able to find any information/picture of a gravestone, including if she's buried with anyone else, that would be very helpful!

Newspaper notice of her death, says her father is of Severn Street, Shrewsbury.

but her husband died only a few months earlier and his body (according to the papers) was brought back to England from Guernsey and buried at Abney Park.
Could she be buried there too?

Added - doesn't appear to be.

Hello, thank you for your reply. Hannah was born 8 JAN 1826 in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. She did indeed marry George Barnard Eagle in Hereford in 1844; records then show them as living (or at least staying) in various parts of the UK. She then died in Shrewsbury, a few months after her husband's death -and doesn't appear to be buried with him in London (Abney Park cemetery) as far as I can tell.

Hello, thank you for your reply, and especially for finding a newspaper article! Would you mind sending me the details? I'd love to hear what it says. The reason I'm trying to find out about Hannah's burial is because I'm hoping it might point to where my direct ancestors - her parents (Thomas Edwards and Charlotte Edwards nee Parker) are buried - I haven't been able to find their death or burial information anywhere, so decided to look into their children in case they were buried together.

Similar pieces in many papers in May and June 1858.

This one 16 May 1858 - The Era

Death of George Barnardo Eagle
Wizard of the South and Professor of Clairvoyance

George Barnardo Eagle
The well known wizard
Has been performing for sometime past in the Channel Islands with the greatest success
And was giving a morning performance at the Assembly Rooms, Guernsey, on Saturday May 1
When he was suddenly seized upon the stage with vomiting blood.
Doctor Collenette was in immediate attendance
But he never rallied and expired at his residence
Pollett Street, Guernsey on the Wednesday following, May 5th
In the fifty first year of his age.
His body was brought to England and interred at Abney Park Cemetery on Monday last.
He has left a widow and five children to deplore his loss.
