From 'Houses of Wexford' (David Rowe & Eithne Scallan)
(permission granted)

Gobbinstown House, New Ross;
Townland; Gobbinstown
Location; S773.326 1KM S of Balllywilliam
-----
An inscription on 1783 dates some of the outbuildings, but the oldest part of the house was believed to be very much older, probably pre 1700.
The Fitzhenry name is associated with the property from very early times, possibly from the start.
The earliest name so far traced (from a headstone) was Nicholas Fitzhenry, who died in 1703.
Mary Fitzhenry married Thomas Lowe in 1786 and the ownership of the house moved into the latter name.
(Fitzhenry in mentioned in other house's but the above is the only one mentioned as in New Ross)

Dear Lisa
Do you have an email address for your cousin? There isn't a contact email on the revolutionwow website. I would very much like to correspond with her about the name cross-over with the Fitz(-)henrys.
Best wishes

Jo Fitz-Henry

Have just joined rootschat and saw this thread . My grandad was John Fitzhenry born 1898 died in 1975 son of James Fitzhenry . We lived in Thatto Heath and knew my Uncle Tommy and heard about Peter and Patrick and think they were my grandads brothers. He had a sister called Margaret who sadly died aged 21years. We know he had a sister who never came to England from Wexford. Will share any information I can to help. Got photos of my grandad and some of Margaret ,a younger brother and their mother my great grandmother. Have got a cold today so bit blurry but will get some info together ready to respond

Hello Carole
It would be great to talk with you about your John Fitzhenry. I'm in contact with Helen from South Africa who is a direct descendant of your grand-dad's brother Peter. She has posted on this thread before so I'll let her know that you have posted here.
If you wish you can email me at fitz-henry@one-name.org

Best wishes
Jo
