Added.. don't know if they are correct but I have a notation her parents may have been John and Possibly Mary Stevens?

Sorry for the delay.  The family I was looking at in 1860 were Salomon, not Soloman but thought it might be worth posting

At first I thought a second marriage but the age of Thomas rules that out. There could be a sister of either ? Solomon or Annie who married a Stevens and their children are staying with them.

1865 census of New York Brooklyn. Kings County

Ann Solmon 57 (poss Solomon) widow Grocer born Ireland has 4 children
Margaret 12
John  8
Mary  6

If Louisa is hers she is missing from this census perhaps staying with others, the ages of the children are in line for those of 1870.The presumed mother Ann/Annie is 57 in 1865 by 36 in 1870.

The 1872 reference is her Marriage in Melbourne to a Charles Barker White MESSENGER. Her DC 1908 in Sydney shows her birthplace as New York, nothing else! She partnered after Charles death in 1889 to a William Masters and died under his name as Louisa Masters in 1908.
