Hello.

On SP there is a death for a Ellen Jane Allan age 27 other surname O'Donnell ... but it's in Ayrshire

Quote
ALLAN

ELLEN JANE
27
1941
597/ 368
Kilmarnock (Ayr)

O'DONNELL

ELLEN JANE

27

1941
597/ 368
Kilmarnock (Ayr)

I couldn't find any for Clydebank. Did you have a look at this one? Pardon me if it's wrong. I've had relatives from Glasgow that passed in Ayrshire while visiting family.

I see their wedding doc which you likely already have?

Quote
ALLAN

JOHN

O'DONNELL

ELLEN JANE
1935

Old or West Kilpatrick

Surely her parents would be mentioned in those docs? You would think.Pending that actually being the correct Ellen of course...

Sorry for your loss. I hope the docs pan out for you and bear good clues.

I get the feeling she was born in Scotland but of course could be and often am wrong...

The first two docs should be revealing.

There was an Ellen Jane O’Donnell born in Castlefin in 1914, which ties in with the age on the death certificate. Parents were James O'Donnell & Ellen Gallagher.

You obviously need to look at the 1935 Scottish marriage certificate to see if the parents names match. If it is the right family, this is them in 1911:

There was a son William born 9.10.1909. He must have died pre 1911. Note that there was a brother Patrick which fits with your information. He was born 10.3.1903 in Tievebrack.

Family in 1901:
