Tully family Tandragee
« on: Saturday 16 October 21 10:53 BST (UK) »
Interested to discover any information regarding the Tully family in the Tandragee area.  Lucinda TULLY married William WHITTEN 1840.  I would like to confirm that Lucinda TULLY (1818-1892 if this is her) was the daughter of a TULLY (male) from ? and REDPATH (female) from Cargans near Tandragee.  A DNA match has shown a relationship to a Thomas TULLY bc1834 Tandragee m Jane Macauley.

There was a John Tully, batchelor, died 1896, age 80, in Cargans. Could be Lucinda'a brother.

Thanks so much for that.  It seems very likely that John Tully is connected to Lucinda Tully :)

On 22 June 1852 in Cargans widow Betty Ann Redpath married a George Guinea ... her father was weaver Thomas Redpath. Her first marriage was to a Barnett in 1847.

Witness William Whitten.

Sister of Lucinda possibly?

Elizabeth Redpath widow of Thomas Redpath died 25 January 1876:

This would make Elizabeth about 16/17 for birth of Lucinda in 1818 ... if it's her.

Names of Redpath men around the area (possible brothers of Thomas):

- Andrew Redpath , weaver
- James Redpath , weaver
-Washington Redpath , weaver

Attached is the first marriage of "Betty" Ann. In this case Thomas is referred to as a farmer and it look like he is the witness.

Realizing that we are actually looking for a Redpath mother and not a father... Pardon me. it is interesting that William Whitten was at that Redpath wedding though....

Thanks Alan,
Our Elizabeth Redpath (daughter of Thomas Redpath & Grace of Cargans) married Robert Bennett in 1847 and he died 1849.  When Elizabeth (Betty Ann married George Guinea in 1852 the William Whitten the witness we think would be husband to Lucinda (nee possibly Tully) .Elizabeth Redpath and Lucinda were cousins so Lucinda's mystery Redpath mother was a sister Elizabeth's father Thomas Redpath. DNA matches have also been found to support this relationship.  We know that William Whitten had died by 1865 as mentioned in his father's will Robert Whitten d 1865 Cargans.  Thomas Redpath's brothers were Robert & John and sister Margaret with unknown Redpath sister mother of Lucinda (Lucy) that we know. The other Redpaths you mentioned are possible cousins of Thomas, Robert, John, Margaret & unk sister and we have DNA matches to that other Redpath family too. I am not sure who Elizabeth Redpath d 1876 would be but I am assuming she is the wife of one of the other Redpath family at Cargans as she is not in our branch.  Thanks again Alan if you ever discover the Tully/Redpath connection I would be very interested in the details.
