Sixth Hussars
« on: Thursday 01 September 05 10:14 BST (UK) »
I have a photograph of my grandfather's brother with a message on
the back that reads Sergeant Arthur Kane, Sixth Hu***rs, killed Picardy 1915.
I've tried the Commonwealth War Graves site but he is not listed. I've also tried "Sixth Huzzars" on my search engine with little result. Has anyone any advice on what my next step could be?

Hi Norris House, and a warm welcome to Rootschat ;D

I have checked the National Archives and can not see him in the Campaign Medals for WW1.

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

Just a thought, have you verified his first name with his birth certificate?  Just thought if a family member wrote on the back, perhaps it was the name by which he was known in the family, and maybe not his first name as on his birth cert ???

I'll leave comments regarding the Regiment to the others - who will be good at that side of things

Best Wishes
Wendi
