Kindle back up
« on: Friday 15 October 21 08:42 BST (UK) »
Hi all, just asking for advice about my kindle, my daughter bought me one 4 years ago and i've bought between 15-20 history books that i can read over & over, still adding to collection, my question is, is it worth putting books on external hardrive as was suggested in article i came across, my daughter says its not worth the effort, i dont even know if it can be done as easy as article suggested, hoping some one can tell me.
All the best.

If you bought the books through Amazon they are already backed up in the Amazon cloud.

Hi sonofthom, thats the exact thing my daughter said, before kindle i bought the normal books, hardback & paperback, got a little library built up, i think i like the idea of realy owning books but your advice with my daughters sounds realy good. Thanks for time and kindness.

And if you see a book you are interested in on Kindle and click to buy, it will also tell you whether you've already bought it and what date.  I don't suppose you would forget which history books you've got, but I've bought (well mainly the free ones) 100s of novels and I can't remember the names of them all and sometimes click to buy a title I like the sound of, only to find that I've already got it.   ::)

LizzieW, I was late getting into kindle, love the feel of book in hands, but since our daughter bought me a kindle I love it, so easy & comfortable to read in chair or in bed and of course you take your library with you when you go away, I was curious about storing my book on external hardrive but, if its backed up through amazon account do I realy need to? Perhaps not but I do love my history books and would hate to lose them for any reason, not a techno person at all so just wondered about storing on external hardrive.
All the best to all.

I still buy books, I always will buy books, but the Kindle is so handy for holidays when I only take a cabin bag.

I'd have to choose between clothes and books otherwise!

I found Kindle very useful during lockdown when the library was closed and, of course, I always take Kindle on holiday with me rather than heavy books.  Now I'm reading books on Kindle and from the library.

Thanks for replies folks, seems none of you feel the need to back books up on external hardrive so i wont either, yes it is nice to have your library right there in your hands, it was just a question i wanted to ask about back up of books i've bought and i think you have all answered the question :) thank you all.
