Re; the Starmond or Wormond...
A slow process but maps.nls.uk website has historical maps and if you have an area that is a focus for the family and a year range you're after e.g. between 1850 and 1890, you can find detailed maps of the area and peruse the map (very slow process) to find places. sometimes they are spelled slightly differently to the documents you may have. i have managed to find a few tiny locations in Scotland by this method.
