Hi,

There is a death in June 1971- See Free BMD - Herbert Guy Thomson - Isle of Wight - Vol 6b Page 2216. Date of birth 19 June 1878.

Hi,

There is a marriage between Herbert G Thomson and a Jane Crawford in June Qtr 1926 - Free BMD has it at Meriden Vol 6d Page 1261.

I wondered if it had been mistranscribed and it was Janet not Jane?

Hi,

You may want to consider getting the marriage certificate for Herbert Thomson/Jane which would at least rule it out.

I can see only 3 marriages for a Herbert G Thomson between 1911 and 1940 but the other two christian names were Ethel and Lena. Was he in the country in 1926 when the marriage between Herbert and Jane took place?

If you use Thompson as his surname, no marriages show up with Janet as the spouse but another potential marriage is in 1915 with a Jane Chapple at Bethnal Green.

Maybe stretching it somewhat but is it worth thinking about?

Alan

The 1915 marriage can be ruled out - he was Herbert George Thompson

hi alan and carol
thanks again to you both for helping me , I too wondered if Herbert married abroad seeing he was moving about all the time , I have tried always of trying to find the marriage between 1911 and 1948 tried just putting Herbert g on the register leaving out the surname hoping the  name Thomson would turn up with a different spelling , (  starting to wonder did they ever marry  lol ??

thanks again cheers m
