Willesborough marriage lookup
« on: Tuesday 21 September 21 19:47 BST (UK) »
Hi
Can anyone help I am interested in exact details of a marriage of John Denne in 1608 and in particular if it indicates if his wife was a widow.
Thanks Madmax

Where did you get his date & place of marriage?  Who did he marry?   Nothing showing for 1608

Hi
Cowpers marriage licence transcript indicates he married Elizabeth Beale, licence dated 13-10-1608, it suggests marriage would take place at Woodnesborough.
IT DID NOT! But Find My Past indicates (I am not a member so cannot view the page only the lookup facility) that it may have taken pace in Willesborough and I wondered if cowper may have transcribed the location incorrectly.

Yes, it took place in Willesborough. He was of "Adsham" and it looks as if she was a widow.

Hi
can you look for an earlier marriage on 13-9-1603 Willesborough when I believe Elizabeth Masters married Thomas Beale and perhaps also the death of said Thomas Beale before 1608 unless she was a bigamist!
Did you get a date for the Beale marriage?

The Genealogist

John Denn of Adsham married Elizabeth Beale of Maidston widow on 10 October 1608 at Willesborough.

Same source
Thomas Beale, Gent of Maidstone  to marry Elizabeth Masters of Willesborough single . License issued 13 September 1603.

They do not have burials that far back, and no confirmed marriage entry.

There is a will on ancestry that could be your man Thomas Beale, dated 24 August 1606 probate 16 December 1606.He is a yeoman of Maydstone Kent. spelling as written.

Paraphrasing.
Wife Elizabeth, son Robert ...when he reaches age 14 ... when he reaches age 21. Concerns when he gets the house etc.
daughter Margaret to get 100 pounds when she marries or reaches age 18.

Executors are brothers William Beale and Edward Masters (today this would be brother in law)
mentions Kinsman Robert (Hale?) and Uncle William Beale.
