Christchurch Cremation Records

The Christchurch City Council records are of burials only. Does anyone have a link to records relating to cremations?

Hi

It used to be necessary to contact the Canterbury Cremation Society (I think that's its name ?).  Not sure if that is still the case ... but will find out for you.

Hello again

I think this is the link you need ... and if not, then they can probably point you in the right direction.  :)

Good luck.  ;)

Is there any other information you need in relation to this (or otherwise), in your search ??

Thank you, Lu, no. Most of the city and regional websites I search for information include both burials and cremations. The ones I use most frequently are Palmerston North, Lower Hutt, and Wellington but Christchurch has always been a challenge. I will try the address you have advised next time I am looking for data regarding a Christchurch search and see how I get on.

Regards

I have had a look at the website indicated earlier in this thread and have found that it is not a searchable one. It's a "fill in a form, send it to us and will have a look for you. Maybe we will charge you a fee for looking." To me, that is rather disappointing.
