DNA test
« on: Sunday 29 August 21 17:36 BST (UK) »
I have done a DNA test with My Heritage. My Family tree is on Ancestry but DNA test with Ancestry is not available in my country .
Now I find I can’t share results of the test on my Heritage with Ancestry ,meaning that I have to pay for subscription for a year with my Heritage to go into more details.I have a first cousin match with a person I don’t know or even recognized the surname.

This is a list of countries where Ancestry say you can do their test.

Albania   Denmark   Lithuania   Slovenia
Armenia   Estonia   Malta   South Korea
Australia   Finland   Netherlands   Sweden
Austria   Georgia    New Zealand   Turkey
Bulgaria   Germany   Norway   United Kingdom
Canada   Greece   Poland   United States
Croatia   Hungary   Romania   Vatican City
Cyprus   Ireland   San Marino
Czech Republic   Liechtenstein   Slovakia

So assuming you are not in one of those countries but have a relative who is you could get Ancestry to send you a kit at your relatives address, they would then forward it to you. Once you have done the test send it back to the relative who would return it to Ancestry. OK a bit convoluted but it should do the job for you
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

As I am not on this list ,the only way is to get a relative to post to me.Its a possibility but was hoping to find another way .It doesn’t make sense as I think you can from Ancestry share your DNA test on other sites.
      Thank you .
