Thomas Smith - Burston Parish Register

Hi Everyone,
According to the birth certificate of my Thomas Smith children it states he was born in Burston, Staffordshire about 1821. Also according to his death certificate it states his father was Joseph Smith 0ccupation Potter, mother is unknown.
Do if anyone has access to the Parish Register for Burston, could they please see if they can find a baptism for a Thomas Smith about 1821.

Does his marriage cert confirm his fathers details?

Unusual for a child’s English birth cert to show the fathers birthplace.  Also unusual for an English death cert to show his fathers name unless he reported the death.

The certificates are Australian not English and his marriage certificate does not give any parental information as they where married prior to Civil Registration in Victoria, Australia

Would have been helpful to include that they were Australian certs to avoid confusion

?  Think it should read Burslem as this is the Pottery area.  There is also Blurton, but that was just a small village.

When did Thomas go to Australia ?  A difficult name to research, as there are Convict records for a Thomas SMITH, Staffordshire, on Ancestry - etc. 

What names did Thomas SMITH gives his children? i.e. family name

Burston is just a few miles from where my daughter lives (at Sandon) - just looking at the 1841 census -

The National Archives talks about, Sandon with Burston Parish.

? ? was there a Church at Burston - or did they use the Church  at Sandon.
