Can anyone read this name? I think it is a man but it could be a woman as it is a marriage witness.

Is it a signature, or is more of the certificate in the same hand?

Provide a link if the certificate is online, else post a larger snippet.

I agree some form of Emmeline, either hurriedly written or spelled differently. If it is the second witness more likely to be, though not necessarily, a woman. I suggest finding a baptism or census entry. Where and what year is the marriage?
