Just for interest, Glen, which newspaper was it in?  I had absolutely no luck finding anything.

Hi All,

Thanks so much for your help and the local knowledge. Really appreciate it.

The Northeast Wales Archives have found mention of the accident and sent me the clipping.

Thanks again,
Glen  :)

Where did it take place if you don't mind telling.

The Archives searched the Denbighshire Free Press and found nothing. The Corwen Times and found nothing. They then searched the Wrexham Leader and found details of the accident in an August edition.

Until now, we've never known exactly where it happened. The clipping says "....when the car dropped 15 feet off the A5 near Pentrefoelas"  :(

I've just had flash backs to the late 1950s of been taking to the War Memorial twice  from school in Llangollen after sports injuries.

I traveled via Google street view  on the A5 around the Pentrefoelas area yesterday.

I used to travel that road quite often in the 1960s, not much since then.  Have a memory of some bad bends west of Pentrevoelas, where the River Conwy is in a gorge below.

Oops, spelling should be Pentrefoelas.  Been working with too many anglicised texts recently.
