If you choose "All Record Sets" from Quick Links on the home page, then United States and specify newspapers - there is a list of available items.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

FindMyPast's contract with the supplier came to an end and they decided not to renew.

Per an answer quoted on the FindMyPast Forum "We made the decision not to give notice of the removal as it's a small number of users who are affected."

Far out, the newspaper collection was one of the best things about FindMyPast. That's a big drop in value for my money, and pretty poor form that they didn't notify subscribers.

It's only the US newspapers that have gone. British and Irish ones (and a few from far flung places) are still there.

I know. I use them all, and it was great to have access to British, Irish and US in one handy place. Now I'll need to think about whether to get a subscription somewhere else.

For such a small part of the offering going, I'd simply save up the searches until I could get to a public library.

Coming back to a search is a great way to review what you did up until that point, and what notes you made (or failed to make) .
