Nantgwyn Church/chapel

Hi

I am looking for Nantgwyn Church/Chapel.  I was told it was on the road to Llanidloes from St Harmon.  Is this correct?  I did pass a graveyard on that road coming from Llanidloes about three weeks ago.  It was on my right-hand side.  I was told it was overgrown but this graveyard seemed very tidy.  Can anyone confirm this please?

We shall be going to the area tomorrow searching for my sister-in-law's family graves and houses. They are Woosnams. But I will look for Nantgwyn Church for you.

I'm the clerk to St Harmon Community Council and Nantgwyn is in my Parish and is also my neighbour.

There are 2 graveyards at Nantgwyn Baptist Chapel.

If you approach the chapel from Rhayader at the bottom of the hill the chapel is on your left - immediately opposite is a right turn. Immediately you turn into here stop - on left is a small gate leading to the old graveyard.

As for ElRow - there are plenty of Woosnams here and still a lot living/farming

I'm sorry that I cannot help. Yes there are a lot of Woosnams in the area still. We came accross a branch of my sis-in-laws family there. Unfortunately, even though I offered to go to Nantgwyn, our visit to mid wales (we live in the south - about 2 hours away) was so successful that all our time was spent visiting houses that the Woosnams had lived in and meeting people. We also visited the cemetaries which are also full of Woosnams.
Yes Woolstenhome and Woosencraft and Woosencroft are all variations of the name.
