Hi can anyone help me with finding a birth For Susannah/Susan Sorrel on the 1851 her birthplace is given as Dedham Essex living in Tendring in 1841 & 51 married surname of Barton.
i hope to be able to download all the images i need on the Essex site on the 24 hr access .

Hello Meg,

1841 census gives her estimated birth year as 1786
1851 census gives it as 1780.
F M P have transcriptions only for Essex births 1770 -1790 - no images.  The same information can be found on family search.

Unable to confirm the following is the family you're looking for but certainly worth following up -

There's a Will for Joseph Sorrell of Wix, a Higgler, available via SEAX
Will written 3 May 1792, Joseph died 29 May 1792 & buried 2 days later in Wix Essex.
Will probated July 1792
Execs were 2 of Joseph's sons, Joseph & Nathaniel

Also mentioned in his will were 2 daughters Margaret & Susan Sorrell (possible match to those mentioned above) - note that as at 1792 both were unmarried as surname = Sorrell in Will.

Joseph 1st? wife believed to be Margaret Smith (Married 24 Nov 1767 Wix)
 - Margaret buried 25 May 1778.

Possible christening of Peggy Sorrell (aka Margaret) 06 Oct 1771 Wix
 and christening of Sukey Sorrell (aka Susan) 15.05.1774 Wix
 and Polly was christened 23 June 1776 in Wix

Joseph remarried 10 Sept 1785 to Dorchas Nickles (widow)
 - they had a few children, all mentioned in Joseph's will (as was Dorcas)
