thanks Colin. I will ignore the couple in Biggar in that case. Cheers.

I cannot find my James and Marion at all after the last birth in Stirlingshire you mentioned earlier. No mention that is until Marion's death in 1855.

JOHN WATSON   Married    KATHARINE CURRIE   14/07/1826   Eaglesham

In 1841 they are at Eaglesham, Montgomery St

1851 Polnoon St. Eaglesham

John born Fintry, Katrine born Eaglesham both 45.
Eldest daughter Elizabeth born Glasgow  about 1828
A further 8 children born Dunbarton or Eaglesham.
None called James but Marion was born Eaglesham  about 1840.

This would suggest that you have the correct death for Marion but I cannot find her on the 1841/1851 census. It would help to find where she is.

Hi Valba

Did daughter in law, Katherine Currie, know Marion's parents' names to be able to give them on her death reg in 1855? If parents were names, what were they? Marion's maiden name Brown?

Have you looked at son John's death reg? This will help hopefully in stating his father's occupation. From the censuses for John, he was a weaver?

Certs haven't helped you much here have they  :-\

Did Marion's death certs include a full list of her children by name and age etc? Sometimes you get clues on children's grandparents' names that way too.
