Does Pay Book contain everything that is in service record?

Hello,
I have my late father's Pay Book from WWII. I also have his discharge certificate, and a typed slip of paper giving his medal entitlement. This last includes the dates of his service in India, Assam and Burma.
My question is this: if I order his full service record, am I likely to find more detailed information about his service?

I also have my fathers paybook.
Only problem was he was at Dunkirk and cardboard, paper and seawater don't mix, so his paybook starts in late June 1940
although his army career started in 1927 and through until 1935 then from outbreak of the war.

Thank you for your response.
In your case, the full service record clearly contains information regarding the dates not covered by the book.
My father's book covers his entire service from enlistment to discharge; if I can learn nothing new from ordering his record from the Army Personnel Centre, I have other things to spend £30 on.

I think his full records will give you the same information as his pay book but in a lot more detail.
At the moment I think the wait for records is rather long, as most is done by volunteers, most of whom are of a certain age.
