125 Blackburn Street, Govan - McElroy
« on: Tuesday 20 July 21 06:28 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about Jane McElroy (widow of Thomas McElroy) that lived at 125 Blackburn Street until her passing in 1957. I believe she raised her Grandchildren John Dillon, James and Thomas Sinclair and potentially their younger sister after the passing of their mother (Jane's daughter). I am unsure if their sister is still alive or not, but believe her surname to be Mitchell.
John and James both did time with the National Service or RAF, and both eventually moved to Canada and Australia respectively. Thomas passed away in 1986. John Dillon signed Jane's death registration in 1957.

I would really like information on both Jane, and my Grandfather's younger sister.
He always told me she was very intelligent/academic.
I can't find any record of her though.

thank you so much!!!

For the avoidance of duplication, there is a previous thread about the same family

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
