George Morris-1871 census
« on: Tuesday 30 August 05 19:28 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have located a George Morris on the 1881 census residing at Homend, Ledbury with occupation of Baker & Confectioner, birthplace of Ledbury and age 40 years.  Also listed in the household on census night his wife Jane ? and mother-in-law Hannah Shakesheff.   Can someone do a look up on the 1871 census for George Morris.

Hi Jeannette
Thanks for that, could I ask you to check the 1861 census for George.

The reason behind tracing him backwards through the census is I am hoping for clues to help me locate his marriage.  On the 81 census his mother-in-law was named as Hannah Shakesheff.  A search for a marriage for George Morris to Jane Shakesheff failed to produce a result.

Thanks to all for locating George Morris through the census.  It looks as if he married sometime between the census's of 61 & 71.
