Anne Cole/Clarke in Armagh and Dublin 1600s - 1700s
« on: Saturday 17 July 21 17:05 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I am looking for a woman named Anne who married Thomas Clarke of Ardress, probably in the late 1690s. User-submitted information on FamilySearch trees indicated her name was Anne Cole. Naturally, this was posted without any sources cited. While these random user-submitted facts can be dubious, I believe it is possible this could be based on an existing fact from somewhere – I have been able to confirm numerous other unsourced facts in FamilySearch trees, so why not this? So far though I am not finding anything that can support this via FamilySearch, Ancestry or PRONI. All I know of Anne is that she was born probably in the 1670s and probably in Armagh. Her husband, Thomas Clarke, died in about 1708, and I believe she might be the Anne Clarke who died in Dublin in about 1752 (as indicated in the TSF Paterson notes found on Armagh County Museum’s website).

Does anyone have any sources that show her name was Anne Cole? Any suggestions on where I could be looking to find this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Jon
