George Logan from Rathmullen, Down
« on: Thursday 15 July 21 13:47 BST (UK) »
Trying to find George Logan. He had two sons john Logan born 1836 Rathmullen, Down, and William Logan born 1845 Rathmullen, Down. William married Mary Rutter in 1871 and they had eight daughters. Both brothers John and William went to Glamorgan and raised  families there. They were hauliers and on marriage certificates for John and William their father is named as George Logan, a farmer, and still alive after Williams marriage in Cardiff 1871. Cannot find a birth or marriage for George Logan or any other children. A family story said that George Logan was born in Scotland and was part of a government scheme to balance the population in Northern Ireland. But cannot find the right George Logan. Educated guesses on his birth date, possible early 1800's has shown nothing that helps.

The George Logan who passed away in 1878 is the likely one. He passed away in the townland of Ballylucas which is just north of Rathmullen Upper.

I'm not sure this George Logan is the right one. I think he only had two sons, John Logan born 1836 and William Logan born 1845. Can't even find a marriage for George which might help.
