Connor Kirkpatrick Families Bridgeton Glasgow
« on: Wednesday 23 June 21 14:32 BST (UK) »
 HI Everyone :)

I'm back  again asking for your help with this family of Irish weavers in the Stocking Hosiery trade.
I did ask for help to find one daughter who died and you  came through as always I was able to read the newspaper article but have had no luck finding what happened to the guilty party the husband. ???

Now I'm asking for help to find the children, I did find the boy John Connor who married lived in a
few places Bonhill.Rutherglen Prestwick he was a carpet designer and family emigrated to NY.USA in 1928 I found them and have a nice contact with his family. ;)

I'm looking for the two sisters Elizabeth Connor born 11Dec.1865  at 22 Kerr St Bridgeton  Mary Connor born 14 June 1871 318 London Rd. Bridgeton  after their mother died they lived with their Kirkpatrick granmother Agnes  and aunt & uncles. I found  Mary Connor on 1901 Census age 29
'Neice' occ; Dressmaker  no sign of Elizabeth Connor.  address 78 Muslin St Bridgeton I have searched many names on S/P still no luck   Any help or ideas gratefully appreciated.

Is there another Scotland census  available after 1901  ???

Thanks a bunch

Jane.

The 1911 census is available at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk and the 1921 will be available there some time next year.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

What is the last census you have Elizabeth on?

Have you checked marriages in the area she was living?

Thanks a bunch for the info on 1911 census I got on to S/P and looked it up and found Mary Connor age 40 single  she had been listed on other census as a dressmaker now on the 1911 she is living in Rutherglen with her two aunts Mary & Matilda Kirkpatrick. They are operating as milk dealer  and Mary is the dairymaid no sign of sister Elizabeth now trying to find her. :)

Kind regards
Jane

Hi   :)

Thank you very much for your helpful reply. If I remember correct the last census I found Elizabeth on was 1891 Bridgeton I ;m sure she was still with her granmother and aunts, uncles. quite a few of who never seemed to have married. ???
I did find a brother James Kirkpatrick who married still lived in Bridgeton.Checked out and wasted a few credits on S/P for Elizabeth Connor but not found with parents William & Jane Kirkpatrick
so still looking and appreciate all the help received from R/C members :)

Kind regards;
Jane :)
