Where is Greigs Stone
« on: Wednesday 16 June 21 08:13 BST (UK) »
Hello,i am researching a family that lived West of Greigs Stone,Edinburgh and are buried in Canongate Kirk, but i just cant find anything about it.Would it have been a poor area do you think? This was 1780 onwards.A couple of children died from pox so would that have been chicken pox,as another died from smallpox. And one age 14 months died from decay, any ideas?Thank you Glenys

I think this might be meaning that the family are buried west of the Greig grave/gravestone within the kirkyard.  Not that they lived in a place of that name.

I did think of that but couldnt find any mention of a Greig. There were quite a few from the same family, they could have all been put together i suppose. Its weird, some on the page are just buried, others state a particular place, now i have read that someone was buried East of Greigs stone.Thank you
