Some time ago you helped me solve an age old mystery about my G-Uncle Bertram Jones. You found that he was a Mercantile Marine who perished after his ship, the S.S Thacia was torpedoed on the 27th of March 1917. This ship was laden with scrap iron and steel. It sank very quickly.
He was only 23yrs of age.
I have tracked down SOME of his descendants, but they do not have any pictures of him, in fact I gave them a lot more information than they gave me.........this was due to your great research and knowledge.
I know he died very young, but not before he married in 1916.
As all images of him seem to have gone astray, I'm wondering if by some chance, being a Mercantile Marine, would he be bound by law, to have a "passport"?
If so, would a copy be on file........"somewhere". I would dearly love to see his image.
Thank you for all your past help. Best wishes to all, Cinny22
