Finding Ann after 1861
« on: Thursday 13 May 21 20:39 BST (UK) »
Ann Collins (née Hill) was born 1830 in Wednesbury. She married Samuel Collins 19 September 1853 in Birmingham. They had two daughters - Mary (1856-1856) and Eliza Ann (1858). I have Ann and Samuel in 1861 living in Wednesbury, Samuel was a coach bolt maker. Ann was widowed in May 1861 and her daughter Eliza was living with James and Mary Stringer in 1871. I can’t find Ann anywhere  ???

I’ve searched for a second marriage and I’ve searched for a death and seem to have hit a brick wall! Perhaps fresh eyes can find her  ;D

Is Kingswinford in the same area only there is a burial 1 Oct 1865 of an Ann Collins born 1830 age 35.
Just a transcription can't see the actual record but the age fits.
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire

I’m not sure, Millie. Is this the burial?

You may have most of this?

Ann HILL   Baptism   28 Mar 1830 Staffordshire   Wednesbury : St Bartholomew : Parish Register
Parents David a blacksmith & Sarah

Sarah RUSSELL to David HILL Marriage 20 Apr 1817   Staffordshire   Kingswinford : St Mary : Parish Register

Looks like they were both buried in Wednesbury – see freereg.

Samuel Collins age 28 burial 23 May 1861 St Bartholomew, Wednesbury

COLLINS, SAMUEL       28
GRO Reference: 1861  J Quarter in WEST BROMWICH  Volume 06B  Page 395

I note the burial for Ann in Kingswinford 7 miles from Wednesbury, sadly it is not on freereg.

There is a burial for Ann in Wednesbury in 1869, freereg but the age is wrong, unless it is an error.

I do not see a GRO index for Ann in Staffordshire; the only one in Q3 1865 West Bromwich is age 0. None in Q4?
