MI for John Smith, Minister of Symington, Lanark, from 1813 to 1834

John Smith, Schoolmaster in Carnwath, & Preacher of the Gospel, married Jean Stodart in 1800, became Minister of Symington in 1813, he died at Symington on 21 Feb 1834. I'm trying to locate a Memorial Inscription for him, probably in Symington (or perhaps Carnwath or Libberton). Can anyone help please?

I would imagine Symington given he died at the Manse as his wife died their 08 May 1840.  If no one has the MI's, you can contact the below perhaps they can confirm his place of burial and perhaps send you a photo.  bereavement.services@southlanarkshire.gov.uk

Various Smith headstones photographed at Symington etc, but don't see your chap amongst them (not 100% coverage though).

Newspapers of timescale have  his death notice, but no note of burial.

Newspaper death notices suggest his wife died at  Culter [aka Coulter] Haugh, Biggar.
