Just bookmarking as mine is up for renewal at the end of the month. 🤞 crossed it works then

Mine due then too, but I am not hopeful. I've always (until very recently) been able to see this offer whilst logged into a long expired and no longer used account. Now going via that route just brings up the standard offer.

I'll try again after the expiry date, but if this offer has been pulled then I'll just let my sub to Ancestry lie dormant until/unless they add something that 'really' grabs my attention at which stage I'll buy a months sub and hammer it till I run out of stuff to look up.

Using that method, financially I'd gain and Ancestry lose, but that is their choice.

Boo

Oh dear, this is a blow for RootsChatters. Luckily I had just renewed my own for the next 12 months. Yesterday, I also tried to create a new account and it still wouldn't come up with the offer that way either.  :'(

I didn't get very far with this link either :-  :'(

Sure someone will post if they find a way into the old link or even find a new one.

Oh that's a pity. My sub is due for renewal at the end of this month. I certainly won't be paying full price, so I'll have let it lapse.

a week or so ago when I went into ancestry, (via my dna summary), I was surprised to see a subscription offer of 50% off an annual sub (which made it the same as the offer in the link), I must admit it crossed my mind whether the link had been 'superseded' in some way.
I have a valid sub so the offer wasn't relevant to me.

However maybe they will offer that from time to time, I don't have any insider info, but I was surprised to see it.

That sounds very similar to the telegraph voucher offer 50% off, as above.

We have kindly been updated regarding this link by gtwo RootsChatters this morning.

https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=862719.msg7382218

https://www.ancestry.co.uk/cs/offers/subscribe?dna=crossAct

Apparently it still does work - RootsChatters have downloaded this link as an html file as per previously suggested but because of circumstances had not used it.  Today they have just tried it and it takes you to the page with 50% discount on either uk or worldwide. When you click on the "get started" button it takes you to the login page.  If you login, it takes you to the payment page and the offer appears to be still available.

Hope everyone has some luck with this system or by ringing ancestry support can manage to get a half price offer on UK and Worldwide subs.

Cheers everyone
Sandra

Call them, most people who do that are getting offered discounts.

Apparently by putting the above link into Google and pressing 'esc' before Ancestry redirects you, it should be possible to access the old page. Unfortunately all it does is take you to an Ancestry Error: 500 'We're sorry this page is unavailable'.

When I download that as a html file then try to open it, all I get is

"Your file couldn’t be accessedIt may have been moved, edited or deleted.
ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND"

Perhaps it only works if you have already saved it before the offer was withdrawn.  :'(
