A Catherine Mooney, age 55, married woman, R.C. , of 7 Noel St was buried at Allerton Cemetery 11th November 1926.

Though the age is 'out' ( age at death is often incorrect) name and address match, so worth investigating.
Will attempt to see if there was a death notice in the newspapers which may help.

I have looked through death announcements in every edition of the Echo for 5 days prior to this lady's burial but can't see a death notice, sorry - it was worth a shot.

IF this is the same Catherine Mooney the burial record says she was a married woman, rather than a widow which would indicate her husband was still alive.

Catherine Mooney was buried in the same grave as her son Matthew. He died in 1924.

MOONEY October 4, suddenly, in his 37th year, MATTHEW (Matt), the dearly loved husband of Lydia Mooney 49 Boswell Street. Interment at Allerton Cemetery tomorrow (Thursday) at 2 pm

so that burial for Catherine is starting to look very likely now as her entry in the Allerton register did say it was a 'subsequent' burial (i.e. not the first burial in that grave).

As an aside it sounds like Catherine had been ill for a while (?possibly a stroke in 1919)

Not in Noel Street after 1926 it seems

James Mooney is registered to vote in 1927-1928 and 1928-1929 at 7 Noel St. He is the only person listed in the electoral registers at that address for those years.

By 1929-1930 he's not there and 7 Noel St has different occupants.

Still not finding him for definite in the registers after that, but he must have survived Catherine by at least 2 years - a baby step forward to finding a record of his death/burial.

I tried putting Noel Street in the keyword box, leaving everything else blank  and limiting the search to a year at a time from 1926.

Bit of a faff, but sometimes it pays off :-)
