Frederick Brotherton buried Furness 1906 - COMPLETE
« on: Thursday 11 March 21 15:22 GMT (UK) »
Hello.  I am seeking help with the burial of Frederick Brotherton on 18 Sep 1906, age 21 months, at Rampside, St Michael, which is near to Dalton-in-Furness, to see whether his parents were Charles and Mary Ann Brotherton.  (I have only seen a transcript on Findmypast.)

I am also looking for a corresponding birth or baptism record, which would be about the turn of the year 1903-1904.

Thanks
Dion

The GRO index has him as 21 , not 21 months.  FindMyPast lists two versions  of the NBI , one says 21 and one says 21 months. Newspapers dated September 1906 record the drowning of Frederick Brotherton , aged 21 , while fishing from an open boat in Walney Chanel , Barrow.

Edit : one NBI entry has him as Frederick Stevenson Brotherton.

Thanks Rosie and Christine.  The maiden name was Perkins, but that seems academic, now.  Looks like 21 years it is, so Frederick belongs elsewhere - could be his mother was unmarried and the name hints at the father being Stevenson.  Best wishes, Dion.
PS there is another iron in this fire and I will start a new topic.
