Looking at birth registrations I think the couples were ADAMS/SMITH and WELLINGS/BODEN.

You are correct about the pairings Debra, although Minnie's surname mis-transcribed on West Midland BMD

Hi I’ve been having a search
Bertha is with Arthur wellings in the 1939 census I have found Minnie with Adams but according to the birth of there children mothers maiden name is Minnie endicott I’m a bit confused in 1939 they are living in Devon showing children victor Adams and Doreen a Adams x

Hope this helps  they are a different Charles and Minnie Adams  from his army record they married 1917  and witnesses to their marriage were Henry & Minnie Endacott (Minnie’s parents)
