Hi,
I have just seen the latest Ancestry TV ad, and it is suggesting that they have records that cover the non-military activities from Word War 2 (i.e. ARP, Volunteer Fire Brigades, etc). I have a whole side of the family who were the wrong (or right) ages to have missed military service, so would love to find out if they joined any of these type organisations to do there bit. However, i can't find any trace on the website of anything like these records, there are a few 'memorial books' (like the post office) but i can't see anything else. Are they hidden away and i am missing them, or is it creative (i.e. false) advertising based on things listed in 1939 register and/or Civil awards (as they mention an award in the ad).
Thanks
Richard
