Cleveland, Ohio
« on: Thursday 18 February 21 12:06 GMT (UK) »
Hello, I'm trying to find out when Jacqueline Cottingham settled in USA. She was married to Walter Horace Cottingham who was the founder of Berger Paints that was based in Cleveland, Ohio. They owned a property in Maidenhead, Berks, England (Woolley Hall) and she was a well known breeder of Golden Retriever dogs.
I've checked on Ancestry immigration records and see them toing and fowing across the Atlantic throughout the 1920-30's. The last time I find her leaving England is in April 1939.
Please can anyone check to see where she was living during the 1930-40's and if possible to find a death for her. She was born in Paris, France c1893, I don't know her maiden name.
Many thanks in anticipation of help
kindest regards
Jill

She returned to the UK in June 1939, stated her last permanent residence as Canada and future permanent residence as Scotland.

I don't know her maiden name.

Devereux?  On some passenger lists she is Jacqueline Devereux Cottingham. There's also this in Google Books:

"Being Canadian , Walter liked travelling to France , and besides Jacqueline Devereux , he acquired an interest in ..."

"Formerly Mrs Miller"
