FindMyPast film strips on census pages- help

I've got a windows 10 15inch screen laptop.

I've tried firefox, chrome and edge. The 'problem' exists for all 3.

I've resorted to downloading the image from the much bigger button in the top middle of the image, clicking the open option rather than save, and can then decide later if I want to save it to my computer.

I've also sent an email registering my complaint to FindMyPast, via their contact us option at the bottom of the site pages. Live chat unfortunately wasn't working today.

Maybe a flurry of complaint emails will make them see there is an issue

OH agrees with you all - he is working in a laptop.  No problem for me as I work on a desk top and have a good sized screen.

   And another thing! I am looking at the 1939 register, and if the cursor goes anywhere on the page a really irritating box appears with the "transcribed details". I can see this could be useful, but not the way it is working now, which is annoying and distracting.
   Added - I have just found that I can switch this off.

   I can still zoom in and out with the mouse on my elderly laptop, which I think someone could not do.

I'm using trackpad not a mouse. Looks like I need to buy a mouse

I use a mouse with an elderly lap top; that doesn’t work for me.  I’ve also found that trying to move the image up or down automatically increases the size. I’m beginning to lose the will 

Film strip is useful for baptisms if you’re looking for siblings as you can skip several pages at once.

I saw this issue raised on FindMyPast Facebook page , it was closed down very quickly....I wonder why 🤔

I enquired as to the new format...

"Thankyou for your email and feedback regarding our new image viewer.
The option to turn off the information bar (additional images) wasn' t considered critical by members in the testing we did for the first release. We will be looking into this for a future release."

I expect I get used to it but its driving me mad at the moment,

  Using the 1911 census today, I find I can only read the address, in the bottom right corner, by moving down into the grey area. Is it just the size of my screen, or is this general?

I've just been looking at the 1939 on my laptop  and it was horrible- so cluttered that it was difficult to navigate the page.  I just did a view in Photos.

It's OK on my desktop

add - I've not had a response to my e-mail yet.

  Nor have I! I have just checked 1939, and discovered that I had to turn off the pop-ups each time I moved to the next page.

Re. the transcript popups, if anyone is using the custom styles I detailed in reply #28, you can add the following statement to permanently hide the popups.
