As was said in reply #10 on page 2, you can lose/keep the filmstrip by toggling the 'All Pages' button at top right of screen. Now this only applies to portrait format screens, eg mobile or small laptop, but it does give a much clearer page without the filmstrip, though it's not a wide page. I have a large screen desktop, but I can see this happening by dragging the bottom right of the screen to the left and when it changes format I get the 'All Pages' button.
This doesn't solve the problem, but it might help.

Nope, I clearly don't have portrait format. These are the icons I have.

I've been experimenting on my small laptop and I'm not sure if anyone else has done this but, if you make the view a few clicks down (Ctr - ), you'll find that all the icons and the film strip shrink so that they are hardly visible. The image itself doesn't. You can then enlarge the image until it's to your liking.

Woo hoo, that’s magic  ;D ;D ;D  You may just have saved my sanity. Thank you.  The grey out at the top has all but gone, and the film strip reduced to a mere half inch. I can live happily with that 😘

That is a very useful piece of information Gadget, thank you for that  ;D  I'm using a standard 15" computer.  I have discovered that if I go back to the transcript page my computer reverts to 100% on its own.  ;D

Added: But not it seems if you wish to look at something else.  ::)  Will therefore have to put the computer back on 100%.
