Thank you all very much for the restores. She has come up a treat. That braiding on her dress looks like a lot of work for the dressmaker and her pocket or bag looks as if it's held quite a few things.
I've got a photo of her husband or son that I'll put up later. The men were blacksmiths and hotel owners. My relative, Adam, was a watchmaker who eventually went blind. He and Elizabeth, the blacksmith's daughter, moved to Liverpool. Their children went to Australia and New Zealand. Margaret came home and married late in life and settled in Wigtownshire.
